Worship Ministry

Jesus said,
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.”  Mark 12:30
Jesus echoed the great teaching of the “Shema” from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 as a central teaching in His ministry.  It is all encompassing; requiring that we give our total self to loving God (Romans 12:1-2).

A. W. Tozer wrote, “We’re here to be worshipers first and workers only second…The work done by a worshiper will have eternity in it.”

First Baptist Church is becoming a worshipping church.  We desire to place as top priority of the church-worshipping God.  Worshipping God in spirit and truth is the wellspring for all other aspects of the Christian life.  From the “Great Commandment” of loving God comes the “Great Commission” to preach and make disciples.  Worship is the priority of the church and the starting point for all the other endeavorss.  
May First Baptist-Sheffield become known as a worshipping church to the glory of God.
